In regard to the celebration, the Pelham Children’s Center had its Annual Pumpkin Festival on Oct. 19 where families flocked to the Fifth Avenue Gazebo Park with energy filled music and fellow spirit.People kissed the pie’s midline and egged themselves into the pie-eating content; people involved themselves in what could be regarded as children’s activities.ether on Fifth Avenue in Gazebo Park for a day filled with music and community spirit. Attendees participated in a pie-eating contest and engaged in various activities fit for all ages.
Todd Kerman, a second-year student of Pelham Memorial High school, though enjoyed the tradition book sale. “I was told that there are always many good books here,” said Kerman. Still, it is good to have even if they are timeless. I and my dad really love to visit the place. Cambria said the center has always had a focus on establishing children and families love for reading, and education, and this just reaffirms it.
It also helps the centre as it is its biggest annual fund raiser.
A participant, Rytas Stankunas, an employee helping at the festival recalled the previous year’s task. “It was down pouring. But this time we had such strong support from the community,” said Stankunas. “Some were here to support [us]”,
This year he weather was much improved and many people in the community came out to support the center.
Speaking in interview Greg Spock, a member of the PCC board, said, “I have been on the board here for three years and this is such an incredible organization. I assisted in planning the gala that was meant to mark formation of the institution in 1971. It is in fact a very wonderful community organization that assemble families and kids in a group.
Volunteers from PMHS came today October 18 to assist with general setup and planning for the coming day.
